The forewing is straw yellow with fine brown reticulation throughout. An irregular brown median band and apical patch are both edged in darker brown. The male has a distinct costal fold on the forewing. The hindwing is pure white. The eastern A. furcatana (Walker 1863) is paler but only reliably separated by looking at genitalic differences.
