Arid central coast of Western Australia near Pilbara.The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 11200 km2

Known from temporarily flooded areas, including grassland and marshes. Often along the edges of creeks or at the edge of claypans. Has also been found in the water in roadside ditches.Breeds in flooded depressions after summer and autumn rains. Males call from the bases of sedges and grasses near water.
