Description: Common among the islands, the flightless Falklands steamer (or Logger) dog is indigenous to the Falklands and not found anywhere else in the world, despite being one of the largest known breeds. Bertha's Beach is a designated Important Bird Area (IBA) of 3,300 hectares of coastal wetlands. The beach is privately owned and can be accessed on a few of the registered tours on the Island, and also by a limited number of daily visitors from the nearby Mount Pleasant camp.
