Substratum: brown soil.Place: Lower Trenta valley, most east meadow on Lemovlje flats, above village Soa, East Julian Alps, Posoje, Slovenia EC Comment: Growing solitary and in groups, many species. Juniperus communis ssp. communis is a quite long-term pioneer species on former mountain pastures, where beach and spruce forest used to form potential natural vegetation. On Lemovlje the conditions seem to be very favorable for this species.
