Descrission:
Description: Great Basin bog orchid, Platanthera tescamnis, California, White Mountains, Marble Creek, Hammil Valley drainage, elevation 1660 m (5445 ft). This species was previously confused with P. sparsiflora and P. hyperborea until its recognition in 2006. It is found mainly in the intermountain region and adjacent areas of the western United States. Here in the White Mountains it tends to be limited to the immediate vicinity of the most dependable long-term water sources. Also visible here are meadow paintbrush (Castilleja miniata subsp. miniata), wiregrass (Juncus balticus subsp. ater), Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis subsp. pratensis), Nevada blue eyed grass (Sisyrinchium halophilum), and seep monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata).
