Leaves are alternately arranged and have 3 leaflets; each 14-50 mm long x 1-6 mm wide, hairless or sparsely hairy and darker above; margins are curved downwards. Flowers are 20-30 mm long, pea-shaped and have 5 sepals and petals. Petals are yellow to orange yellow and the keel is densely fringed on the margins. Flowers mostly in winter and spring.
