Water hyssop (Bacopa monnieri) (6427938637)

Plancia ëd Bacopa monnieri (L.) Pennell

Descrission:

Description: Face to face with the herb of grace. One of my favorite little micro-plants, water hyssop, at Juno Dunes Natural Area, growing along a wet trail. There is some debate as to the native status of this little herb but, despite having a Sanskrit name (Brahmi), it has been in North America as long as anyone can remember so it's probably pan-tropical. This little plant has a phenomenal variety of medicinal uses and has been utilized from ancient times right up to the present. I can't begin to list them all but uses include improving memory, antioxidant properties, a tranquillizer, muscle relaxant, anti-anxiety and anti-depressant. These seemed to have a slightly bluer tint than the ones I photographed a few months ago. Date: 24 November 2011, 09:58. Source: Water hyssop (Bacopa monnieri) Uploaded by Jacopo Werther.
