中文名為赭黃原喙蜾蠃,別名為黃喙蜾蠃。本種雌蟲體長15~20mm,雄蟲體長11~18mm,體表點刻不發達。身體橙紅色、紅褐色或黃褐色。臉部唇基黃褐色(雄蟲唇基黃色),中胸背板黑褐色,有一個略呈M字形的淡色斑,前伸腹節中央黑褐色;前翅末端常有深色斑。腹部呈長卵形,第1節黃褐色,基部黑褐色;其餘各節黑褐色,末端有界限模糊的淡色寬環帶。

本種將蜂巢築於竹管中,或直接黏附於建築物牆面上。黏附型的蜂巢通常由4~5個橫向巢室以垂直方向連結一起,外面並會包覆一層泥殼。雌蟲獵捕鱗翅目幼蟲作為後代的儲糧。
