Merogony: broadly oval cells, 3-5 µm in size, uninucleate. No plurinucleate forms known. Sporogony: sporonts are single, uninucleate cells in direct contact with host cell cytoplasm, bearing a thin layer of future exospore material. Spores, 1.9 - 2.0 x 0.8 - 1.0 µm, elongate oval to tubular, sometimes slightly curved, uninucleate. Polaroplast bipartite, anterior part of thinner, flat lamellar sacs, posterior part of shorter, broader lamellar sacs Polar tube isofilar with 5 -7 coils in a single rank.
