Male flowers unknown: fertile plants in low, compact tufts, with stems about 1 cm. high and irregularly spreading, flexuous leaves: stem-leaves mostly ovate-lanceolate, 3.5-4.5 mm. long, from a rather narrow base gradually narrowed to a more or less subtubulose point mostly a little exceeding the basal part in length; costa in cross-section "sEowing single layers of cells above and below the chlorocysts in the middle, with 2 or 3 layers of cells above and 3 below in the thicker parts; hyaline blade in the lower part of the leaf of 8-10 rows of cells; inner perichaetial leaves somewhat convolute nearly to the apex, rather shorteTtEari the outer: seta about 1 cm. long: capsule not strumose, 1.25 mm. long, with a rostrate lid of about equal length.
Type locality: Costa Rica.
Distribution: Jamaica: Mexico; Guatemala; Costa Rica.
