Tussilago farfara is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Denmark, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Hungary, Sweden, Albania, Germany, Yugoslavia, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, United Kingdom, Latvia, Turkmenistan, Morocco, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Moldova, India, Georgia, Ireland, Poland, Turkey, Tajikistan, Norway, Russia, Lebanon, Iran, Greece, Finland, Algeria, Belarus, Romania, Spain, Estonia, Uzbekistan, France, and Czech Republic. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Lasioglossum smeathmanellum, Cheilosia grossa, Nomada fabriciana, and Nomada sheppardana. Individuals can grow to 0.22 m.
