MATERIAL EXAMINED.—Holotype, male: VENEZUELA, EDO. BARINAS, 22 km NW Barinitas, 19 Feb 1976, C.M. and O.S. Flint, Jr. NMNH Type.
Paratypes: Same data as holotype, 2, 3 (IZAM, NMNH).
COLOMBIA [DPTO. MAGDALENA], Sierra Nevada de Sta. Marta, stream near Minca, ∼ 2000 m, 13 Jul 1983, U. Matthias, 1. Minca, June, Carnegie Museum Acc. No. 1999, 1 (CMNH).
ETYMOLOGY.—A name suggested by the locality Barinita.
