They are native to SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), Amapá, Amazônia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, RondôNia, Tocantins, Pará, and Bahia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 6 m.
