Phyllosticta vaccinii Earle, Bull. Torrey Club 24: 31. 1897
Spots circular or semicircular, reddish-brown, indefinite or bounded by a narrow dark circumscribing line, more or less zonate, visible on both sides of the leaf but paler on the under side, reaching a diameter of 1 cm. or more; pycnidia rather numerous, thickly gregarious near the center of the spot, mainly on the upper side of the leaf, reaching a diameter of
80-100 m; spores numerous, large, ellipsoid or subglobose, filled with oil-drops, 4-5 X 10-12 x.

Type locality: Auburn, Alabama. Distribution: Alabama and Florida.
