Nectandra membranacea (Sweetwood) is a species of tree in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico, Mata Atlântica, The Neotropics, RondôNia, U.S. Virgin Islands, SãO Paulo, GoiáS, Santa Catarina, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Paraná, Caatinga, Bahia, Cerrado, Amazônia, Acre (Brazil), Minas Gerais, and Espirito Santo. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 35 m.
