They are native to Pará, Bahia, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Alagoas, Maranhao, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Amazônia, Espirito Santo, Puerto Rico, Paraná, Piauí, Distrito Federal, Mata Atlântica, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Rio Grande Do Norte, GoiáS, ParaíBa, RondôNia, Roraima, Mato Grosso Do Sul, and Sergipe. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.71 m.
