Slender glabrous annual ; stem 1-3 dm. high, decumbent or erect, simple or slightly branched; leaves pinnate, 3-6 cm. long; divisions 3-7, oblong, oblanceolate, linear-oblanceolate, or sometimes elliptic, sometimes 2-cleft, 1-2.5 cm. long; peduncles 1-3 cm. long, shorter than the leaves and usually scarcely exceeding the petioles ; sepals lanceolate or lance-ovate, 3 mm. or in fruit 4-5 mm. long, acute; petals oblong or elliptic, 1.5 mm. long; carpels 2-3, 3-4 mm. long, with small pyramidal tubercles.
Type locality : Pennsylvania.
Distribution : Wet places from Quebec to New Jersev, Tennessee, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

Floerkea proserpinacoides S. Wats. Bot. King's Expl. 50. 1871. Not F. proserpinacoid.es Willd. Very slender glabrous annual ; stem simple or slightly branched, less than 1 dm. high, ascending or decumbent ; leaves 1-3 cm. long, pinnate, glabrous ; divisions 3-5, oblong or oblanceolate to nearly linear, 5-15 mm. long ; peduncles 1-3 cm. long, longer than the petioles and often equaling the leaves ; sepals ovate, acute or short -acuminate, 2 mm. or in fruit 3 mm. long; petals oblanceolate or oblong, usually less than 1 mm. long; carpels usually 2, globose, 2-2.5 mm. in diameter, with small pyramidal tubercles.
Type locality : Swan Lake, Yellowstone National Park.
Distribution : Wet places, from Wyoming and Colorado to California and Washington.
