Erect or ascending annual or biennial, 2.5-7.5 cm. high, the stems solitary. or few, leafy essentially throughout; basal leaves tufted, obovate, 3-5.5 cm. long, 6-15 mm. wide, obtuse to rounded, somewhat fleshy; stem-leaves oblanceolate to lanceolate, 2-3.5 cm. long, 4-8 mm. wide, mucronate-apiculate; branch-leaves narrowly elliptic to linear-lanceolate, 1.2-2 cm. long, 2-4 mm. wide; peduncles 5.5-15 cm. long; racemes capitate or subcapitate, ovoid to thick-cylindric, usually apiculate, very densely flowered or rarely and abnormally loose at base, 1.5-2 cm. thick, the axis 7.5 cm. long or less; bracts subulate-attenuate, ciliolate, deciduous, 3.5-5 mm. long; pedicels narrowly winged, 2.2-4 mm. long; flowers lemon-yellow, turning dark-green in drying; upper sepal deltoid-ovate, cuspidate, 2.6-3 mm. long, the lower ovate, 2.2-2.6 mm. long; wings oblong or oblong-elliptic, 6-6.8 mm. long, 3.5-4 mm. wide, abruptly cuspidate-mucronate, 7-nerved; keel 5-5.2 mm. long, the crest on each side of a lamella and 2 divided lobes, a short unpaired segment terminating the keel; capsule obliquely deltoid-cuneate, plump, narrowly crenulate-margined especially on the lower side, 1.4—1.7 mm. long, 1.7-1.9 mm. wide; seed ellipsoid, plump, short-pubescent, 1.2-1.5 mm. long; aril 1-1.1 mm. long, the 2 lobes linear-oblong.
