Panicum mertensii is a species of perennial grass in the family true grasses. They are native to Amazônia, Distrito Federal, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), GoiáS, Rio De Janeiro, Maranhao, Cerrado, Pará, Minas Gerais, Pantanal, Roraima, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, Mata Atlântica, Pernambuco, The Neotropics, Alagoas, Bahia, and Mato Grosso Do Sul.
