They are native to Acre (Brazil), Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Alagoas, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, RondôNia, Amapá, SãO Paulo, Amazônia, Pará, Pernambuco, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, South America, and Roraima. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 9 m.
