Description

Slender prostrate or climbing herb with annual stems arising from a perennial rootstock. Leaves variable, ovate to triangular in outline, more or less 3-lobed, more of less densely covered in soft to somewhat bristly hairs; margin almost entire to prominently toothed. Flowers small, unisexual on different plants; male flowers in dense axillary clusters; female flowers solitary, bell-shaped, white fading to yellowish. Fruit 9-17 mm long, spindle-shaped, bright red when ripe.
