It is native to Caatinga, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Roraima, Pantanal, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, Mato Grosso do Sul, Amapá, Maranhao, Goiás, Pará, Rondônia, Tocantins, Cerrado, and Amazônia. Abuta grandifolia has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 0.77 m.
