Piper arboreum is a species of tree in the family Piperaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Piauí, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Amazônia, GoiáS, Alagoas, Rio De Janeiro, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Mata Atlântica, Ceará, Rio Grande Do Sul, Amapá, Roraima, Caatinga, Acre (Brazil), SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, RondôNia, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Pará, Pernambuco, Cerrado, Sergipe, Bahia, Tocantins, and Paraná. They have simple, spine-shaped leaves. Individuals can grow to 6.1 m.
