Glabrous subshrub, 10-40 cm, from a woody rootstock. Leaves decussate, sessile; lamina linear-lanceolate, glaucous, 1-nerved; base rounded, truncate or subcordate; apex acute. Dichasia (1-)3-flowered; peduncle slender, to 15 mm; bracteoles 1.5-2 mm, linear-lanceolate; pedicels of lateral flowers 1-2 mm. Flowers 6-7(-8)-merous. Calyx tube 3-4.7 mm, cup-shaped; lobes 0.8-1 mm; appendages very short. Petals 2.5-5 mm, orange, pink with red mid-line, pale red or red. Stamens 12-14(-16), unequal, exserted. Style 8-9 mm. Capsule 3-3.5 mm in diameter, spherical.
