Stilt Root Mahobohobo

Medium to large evergreen tree. Bark grey with brown lenticels, smooth, cracking when older. Base of the trunk with conspicuous stilt-roots up to 2.5m long. Leaves alternate, spiralled, elliptic-obovate, usually up to 15cm long, sometimes larger, leathery, dark green above, paler below, hairless; veining conspicuous, looping before the margin; margin entire often somewhat rolled under. Petiole slender, 1-5cm long. Young leaves reddish-pink. Flowers among the leaves, greenish-yellow, sexes mostly on different trees. Fruit fleshy, spherical, 1.5-2 cm in diameter, yellow when ripe.
