Multinucleate flagellates (22-92 µm) composed of 66-345 karyomastigonts arranged along spiral lines from the apex. Each karyomastigont comprises three anterior flagella and a recurrent thick flagellum adhering along a cresta in its proximal part. Axostyles independent, grouped at the posterior end. Parabasal bodies dot-shaped applied against the nuclei. The only species, M. senta, occurs in several termites of the genus Incisitermes (formerly Kalotermes) in America. Light microscopy by Kirby (1939) and Grassà (1952a). Type species: Metacoronympha senta Kirby, 1939.
