Heuchera columbiana Rydb. sp. no v
Acaulescent ; flowering branches scapiform, naked, hirsute with white hairs, about 5 dm. high ; petioles 5-10 cm. long, hirsute ; leaf-blades orbicular or nearly so, deeply cordate at the base, glabrous or ciliate on the margins and veins, thin and shining, 3-6 cm. broad, rcund-lobed and crenate; inflorescence elongated, spike-like, 5-8 cm. long; hypanthium deeply campanulate, yellowish, densely short-hirsute, together with the oblong, obtuse or acute sepals 6-9 mm. long; petals apparently wanting.
Type collected near Swan Lake, Washington, in 1897, by J. B. Winston. Distribution : Interior of Washington, Idaho and Montana.
