inyangensis: of Mt Nyangani (where this variety does not occur); kimberleyana: named after Mike Kimberley, chairman of the Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe, who collected the type specimen.

Description

Succulent herb. Stems spreading to pendent, up to 1 m long. leaves crowded towards the apices of the stems, 2-ranked, pendent, up to 40 cm long. Inflorescence with peduncle curved upwards. Raceme erect, laxly flowered, 6-10 cm long, cylindric; bracts up to 25 × 10 mm, broadly ovate, orange-brown. Flowers 30-37 mm long, 3-sided-cylindric, narrowing towards the mouth, bright red, green-tipped.
