Leaf-blades very variable, oblong or elliptic, varying to ovate or obovate or linear, or rarely pandurate, 2.5-10 cm. long, usually mucronate, bright-green and finely reticulate or smoothish above, glabrous or nearly so at maturity, prominently reticulate beneath, rounded or cordate at the base, short-petioled ; peduncles and pedicels sparingly pubescent or glabrous ; sepals ovate to oblong-ovate, 3.5-4 mm. long, the glands one half as long as the sepal-body or less; larger petals 10-12.5 mm. long; samaras 1.5-2.2 cm. long, the ventral edge of the wing with a prominent auricle at the base.
Type locality : Cuba. Distribution : Bahamas and Cuba.
