Shrubs, pubescent on young growth, glabrescent. Petiole 1-1.4 cm; leaf blade ovate or elliptic, 4-7 × 2-4 cm. Inflorescences erect, terminal or axillary racemose panicles; bracts deciduous, leaflike, to 7 mm. Pedicel ca. 1 mm. Calyx campanulate, ca. 6 mm, sometimes with 5 prominent longitudinal ribs; teeth ca. 1 mm, often somewhat unequal. Corolla golden yellow, 1.4-2 cm, gradually expanded upwards, glabrous, lobes 3-4 mm. Filaments denticulate, pubescent at point of insertion. Berry white, ovoid, 7-11 mm; persistent calyx often splitting. Seeds ca. 4.

Arbustos o árboles pequeños, de 2 a 5 m. de alto, con ramitas glabras. Hojas ovadas o elípticas, de 7 a 13 cm de largo, ápice acuminado, base obtusa, glabras; pecíolos de 1,5 a 3 cm. de largo, glabros. Inflorescencias mayormente en fascículos con varias flores, terminales en brotes axilares cerca de los extremos de las ramas, a veces paniculadas, raquis glabro, pedicelos casi 1 mm. de largo, flores diurnas y vistosas; cáliz tubular de 4 a 5 mm de largo, glabro o apicalmente ciliolado, lóbulos subulados, ligeramente desiguales que se extienden de 1 a 2 mm. de la costa, a veces purpúreos; corola amarillo brillante o anaranjada, tubo obcónico de 14 a 20 mm. de largo, glabro, lóbulos de 3 a 4 mm. de largo, a veces más obscuros, menudamente puberulentos o ciliolados; filamentos libres por 5 a 8 mm. de su longitud, denticulados, pubescentes en y por abajo del punto de inserción. Fruto tipo baya ovoide de 7 a 11 mm. de largo, blanca, cáliz abrasador frecuentemente separado; semillas de 4 a 5 mm de largo.

Cestrum anagyris, ye una especie de parrotal de la familia Solanaceae nativa d'América Central y América del Sur.

Carauterístiques

Cestrum anagyris ye un parrotal qu'algama un tamañu de 1.5 a 5 m d'altu, coles sos cañes de color café abuxáu, estriaes, fueyes en forma cuasi arrondada o un pocu allargaes, cola so punta pequeña, son delgaes delles vegaes paecen de cueru, pel anversu son de color verde intensu, pol aviesu verde opacu, otres vegaes con tintes azulosos por dambes cares. Les flores son allargaes de color mariellu y dispuestes en recímanos. El frutu ye cuasi redondu de color blancu, conforme madura camuda a verde, anaranxáu y negru al ensugase.

Distribución y hábitat

Ye orixinariu de Méxicu y habita en clima templáu a los 3000 metros, acomuñáu al monte mistu d'encino-pinu.

Propiedaes

Esta planta utilizar contra'l dolor de cabeza, nel Distritu Federal, y en baños pa dempués del partu ya irritación de la piel, en Morelos.[1]

Taxonomía

Cestrum anagyris describióse por Michel Félix Dunal y espublizóse en Prodromus Systematis Naturalis Regni Vegetabilis 13(1): 608. 1852.[2]

Etimoloxía

Cestrum: nome xenéricu que remanez del griegu kestron = "puntu, picadura, buril", nome utilizáu por Dioscórides pa dalgún miembru de la familia de la menta.[3]

anagyris: epítetu llatín que significa "similar al parrotal goliosu Anagyris ".[4]

Cestrum aurantiacum ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Hammersträucher (Cestrum).

Beschreibung

Cestrum aurantiacum ist ein 1,5 bis 6,5 m hoher Strauch oder gelegentlich bis zu 8,5 m hoch werdender Baum. Die Zweige sind unbehaart oder spärlich filzig behaart. Die Laubblätter sind eiförmig bis elliptisch, 7 bis 17 cm lang und 2,5 bis 5,5 cm breit. Beide Blattseiten sind unbehaart, die Spitze ist zugespitzt oder kurz spitz zulaufend, die Basis ist zugespitzt bis abgestumpft oder gelegentlich kurz verjüngend. Die Blattstiele sind 1 bis 3 cm lang und unbehaart.

Die end- oder achselständigen, doldigen oder traubigen Blütenstände bestehen aus einigen bis wenigen Blüten. Die Blütenstandsachse ist fein behaart oder unbehaart, die Tragblätter linealisch und später abfallend. Die Blüten sind aufsitzend, beinahe aufsitzend oder stehen an bis zu 1,5 mm langen Blütenstielen. Der Kelch ist röhrenförmig, 5 bis 6,5 (selten auch bis zu 9) mm lang und bis auf die (0,7) 1 bis 2 (3) mm langen, bewimperten Kelchzipfel unbehaart. Diese sind pfriemförmig und lang-stachelspitzig oder abgerundet und lang-stachelspitzig und laufen an der Kelchröhre als fünf Nervenbahnen weiter nach unten. Die orange oder selten auch gelbe Krone besitzt eine 17,5 bis 20 mm lange Kronröhre, die Kronzipfel sind 3 bis 3,5 (5,5) mm lang, eiförmig oder lanzettlich. Am Rand sind sie nach außen papillös-behaart. Die Staubfäden sind 4 bis 6,5 mm lang, geschwollen und knieförmig umgebogen, rinnenartig oder fast anhängselartig. Die Basis und die Leitbündel der Staubfäden sind behaart. Der Griffel ist 16,5 bis 18,5 mm lang.

Als Früchte bilden sie weiße, 8 bis 12 mm lange Beeren mit sieben bis neun Samen, die etwa 3 bis 5 mm lang sind.

Die Chromosomenzahl beträgt 2n = 16.[1]

Vorkommen und Standorte

Diese Art ist in einem Gebiet verbreitet, das vom südlichen Mexiko bis nach Nicaragua reicht. Dort ist sie in feuchten Dickichten oder Wäldern zu finden, oftmals in Kiefer-Eichen-Wäldern in Höhen zwischen 1000 und 2600 m.

Verwendung

In Huehuetenango (Guatemala) sollen die zerstoßenen Blätter zusammen mit Seife und kaltem Wasser verwendet werden, um Flecken aus der Kleidung zu entfernen.

Botanische Geschichte

Die Erstbeschreibung dieser Art erfolgte 1844 durch John Lindley, der sie anhand einer in England gezogenen Pflanze beschrieb. Die Samen wurden ihm durch George Ure Skinner zugesandt, der sie in Chimalapa (Guatemala) gesammelt haben soll.

Descripción

Es un arbusto, que alcanza un tamaño de 1 a 3 metros de altura, glabro o raramente pubescente; la raíz perenne, fibrosa, ramificada, con el tallo erecto, muy ramificado, con las ramas opuestas, bifurcadas o erectas, de color verdoso. Las hojas opuestas , lineales o lineal-lanceoladas, agudas, atenuadas en la base, sésiles o subsésiles, enteras, casi planas. Las inflorescencias en panículas de muchas flores, de 3-8 cm de largo, de color amarillo, la corola en forma de embudo, con un tubo subcilíndrico, blanco por debajo, por encima de color amarillo azafrán. El fruto es una cápsula.[5]

Cestrum aurantiacum fue descrita por John Lindley y publicado en Edwards's Botanical Register 30(Misc.): 71. 1844.[6]

Etimología

Cestrum: nombre genérico que deriva del griego kestron = "punto, picadura, buril", nombre utilizado por Dioscórides para algún miembro de la familia de la menta.[7]
