Silene (Catchfly) is a genus of shrub in the family carpetweeds. They are native to Hawaii, Alaska, Greenland, Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Sphaerophoria, green-veined white, orange tip, and Green-striped White. Individuals can grow to 0.15 m.
