Cuphea carthagenensis (Colombian Waxweed) is a species of shrub in the family Lythraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Pernambuco, Acre (Brazil), Mata Atlântica, Tocantins, Paraná, Caatinga, Pantanal, Alagoas, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Pará, RondôNia, Pampa, GoiáS, Sergipe, Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio Grande Do Sul, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso, Amazônia, The Americas, and Ceará. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit.
