Ionoxalis nudiflora (Moc. & Sesse) Small
Oxalis nudiflora Moc. & Sesse ; DC. Prodr. 1 : 695. 1824.
Plants 1-2 dm. tall, the bulb-scales 3-ribbed ; leaves fully one half as tall as the scape or equaling it, the petioles copiously villous; leaflets 3, the blades obreniform, 2-3 cm. wide, deep-green and with occasional hairs above, paler and with scattered hairs beneath, the lobes rounded ; scapes pubescent like the petioles ; cymes 410-flowered ; pedicels 1.5-3.5 cm. long, very sparingly pubescent ; sepals lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 5-6 mm. long, pubescent, each bearing two broad apical tubercles; petals violet, 11-16 mm. long; shorter filaments glabrous ; longer filaments pubescent, each with an appendage on the back below the middle.
Type locality : Mexico.
Distribution : Southern Mexico.
