Carlina vulgaris (Carline Thistle) is a species of biennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Red tailed bumblebee, jersey tiger, hedge brown, and six-spot burnet. Individuals can grow to 0.26 m.
