Silurus glanis (Sheat) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family sheatfishes. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to the Palearctic. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 500 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They have parental care (female provides care and paternal care). They rely on swimming to move around.
