Cá thiên thần lùn (Danh pháp khoa học: Centropyge) là một chi cá biển trong họ Cá bướm gai, sống trên khắp các vùng biển thuộc Ấn Độ Dương, Thái Bình Dương và Đại Tây Dương.
Mô tả
Centropyge thường có màu sắc sặc sỡ; chiều dài cơ thể không quá 15 cm. Chúng sống thành những nhóm nhỏ, gồm một con đực và nhiều con mái. Centropyge là loài lưỡng tính; cá mái lớn nhất trong "hậu cung" sẽ thay đổi giới tính nếu cá đực đầu đàn chết đi. Quá trình biến đổi này diễn ra trong vòng vài tuần[1]. Cá đực và cá mái có màu sắc khá giống nhau nên khó phân biệt.
Thức ăn của Centropyge là tảo, bọt biển và động vật không xương sống nhỏ. Tuy nhiên, nhiều loài trong số chúng có thói quen gặm, rỉa các rạn san hô, nên cần lưu ý khi nuôi chúng trong các bể cá cảnh. Ban đầu khi nuôi trong bể, Centropyge có thể khá nhút nhát, luôn lẩn trốn trong san hô nhưng sẽ dạn hơn khi chúng đã thiết lập lãnh thổ cho riêng mình.
