Sponge was attached to rope off the side of the MBL dock, clustered near many invasive sponges (such as Botrylloides diegensis). It was identified by looking at its spicules beneath a microscope. We found a mixture of spicules that were point on both ends and ones that had one round end and one pointed. The fact that there was a mixture of spicules but they were still predominantly pointed on both ends helped with the identification of this specimen.
