Colonies are arborescent or prostrate or form caespito-corymbose bushes. Branches are up to 20 mm thick. Radial corallites have projecting lower lips. Colour: uniform cream, yellow or pale brown. Abundance: common, occurs in a wide variety of environments. Colonies are frequently over 2 m in diameter and may form monospecific stands (Veron, 1986).
