This species inhabits a cave in Agios Georgios Island, Cape Arnaoutis, Cyprus. It is found pendant from the ceiling of the cave like a stalactite, about 9–10 m deep. Collector, Dr Steven Weinberg.

The holotype in a shallow crevice on the underside of a medium-sized coral boulder, beside Spirastrella hartmani Boury–Esnault et al., 1999 (Spirastrellidae) and a didemnid tunicate.
