Opuntia basilaris (Beavertail Cactus) is a species of tree in the family cacti. They are succulent plants. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Western North America, and North America. They have simple, photosynthetic stem leaves. Flowers are visited by Red-eared Blister Beetle, Lithurgopsis apicalis, Cactus Coreid, and Velvety Tree Ant.
