Also distributed in New Caledonia (Clark, 1954); Persian Gulf, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan, South Pacific Is. and Hawaiian Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995). General distribution: Indo-Pacific Ocean (Lambert, 1923); tropical, Indo-Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-90 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995). Ecology: benthic, inshore, continental shelf, deposit feeder (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
