Diopatra neapolitana Delle Chiaje 1841

Occurs throughout the Mediterranean Sea and along the Atlantic Iberian and French coast in intertidal and shallow subtidal depths. Reports from elsewhere probably relate to different but similar species (Arias et al 2016): eg Pacific Ocean, China Sea, Gulf of siam, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, Persian Gulf, red Sea, Atlantic Ocean (as per Fauvel,1953).
