Cocos nucifera, a monospecific tropical tree, widely cultivated in India, South East Asia, Madagaskar and Hawaii. The tree has a life span of 60 to 75 years. The cylindrical trunk usually unbranched may grow to a length of 60 m or more. Benefits: The eproducts from Coconut are the kernel, dried kernel (copra), coconut oil, toddy, coir, timber etc.
