Herbs perennial. Stems tufted, 20--30 cm tall, sparsely pubescent. Leaves sessile, linear-lanceolate, 0.3--3.5 cm × 1.5--2.5 mm, margin sparsely long ciliate, apex long acuminate. Flowers in terminal cymes; peduncles slender; bracts ovate, ca. 2 mm, membranous. Pedicel 0.5--1(--4.5) cm. Sepals 5, lanceolate, 3--4 mm, midvein conspicuous, 3-veined, margin membranous, apex acute. Petals 5, slightly shorter than or subequaling sepals, 2-cleft nearly to base. Stamens 10. Ovary ovoid-orbicular; ovules 7 or 8; styles 3, linear. Capsule shortly obovoid. Fl. Jul, fr. Sep.
