Rhizocephala (Rhizocephalans) is a superorder of barnacles. There are 288 species of Rhizocephalans, in 42 genera and 13 families. This superorder has been around since the priabonian age. It includes groups like Parthenopeidae, Peltogasterellidae, and Pirusaccidae. They are sessile animals.
