Hypolycaena buxtoni Hewitson 1874

Hypolycaena buxtoni, the Buxton's hairstreak, is a butterfly of the family Lycaenidae. It is found in southern Africa.

The wingspan is 25–30 mm for males and 28–33 mm for females. Adults are on wing from September to May (with a peak in October and November) and from February to May (with a peak in March and April). There are two generations per year.^[2]

The larvae feed on Tricalysia and Pavetta species and possibly Tarenna pavettoides.^[3]

Buxton’s Hairstreak (Hypolycaena buxtoni) là một loài bướm ngày thuộc họ Bướm xanh. Nó được tìm thấy ở nam Africa.

Sải cánh dài 25–30 mm đối với con đực và 28–33 mm đối với con cái. Con trưởng thành bay từ tháng 9 đến tháng 5 (nhiều nhất vào tháng 10 và tháng 11) và from tháng 2 đến tháng 5 (nhiều nhất vào tháng 3 và tháng 4). Có hai lứa trưởng thành một năm.^[2]
