Crotalus lorenzoensis, or the San Lorenzo Island Rattlesnake, is a species of pit viper.[4]

Description

Usually, specimens have no rattle, and are smaller in size compared to their counterparts on the mainland.[5]

Geographic range

It is only known from the type locality, which is San Lorenzo Island, thus making it an endemic species.[2]

Habitat

Specimens occur mainly in rocky areas and arroyo bottoms. It can also be found in dunes near the coast and in cavities formed by adjacent boulders.[1]

Conservation status

This species is classified as "Least Concern" (LC) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
