Vallisneria americana (American Eelgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hydrocharitaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, Eastern North America, and North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1 feet.
