Cordyline australis is a species of tree in the family Asparagaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Bombus terrestris, Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae, Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae, and Dilophus nigrostigma. Individuals can grow to 18 m.
