Sphex ichneumoneus (Great Golden Digger Wasp) is a species of bees & apoid Wasps in the family sphecid wasps. They visit flowers of dense-spike blackroot, bluewood aster, Asclepias, and buckwheat. They are diurnal. Individuals can grow to 24 mm.
